Sam Hammil response
After reading over the “Poetry of Witness Poems“, and the “Sam Hammil Response“. There were a few connections between them all. In the Sam Hammil Response he discussed a few traits that a good writer should have. These few traits were shown to the best of their ability. A couple of the traits are a poet gives up the self, a true poet will justify names properly, a true poet is not afraid to bring up a topic that everyone has heard about. These traits or skills were shown throughout the Poetry of Witness Poems.

One poem that really stood out is the “Immigrants in Our Land”. The poet brought up immigration and the way he did was smooth but dead on the target about how it is really going on out there. This was one of the traits that could relate to “Sam Hammil Response” in the response Sam talked about how if someone wants to be a creative writer. They have to not be afraid to bring up a topic we have all heard a lot about.
Well reading the “Photograph from September 11th” the details in the poem allowed this picture to form in my head that was just as clear as a 1080 HD TV. The author used a good vocabulary that allowed this picture light up. Poems with a great vocabulary will receive a great response.
There were many more poems that could relate to the “Sam Hammil Response”. every poem that was read had a unique appearance and that is one thing about being a great writer. Every great writer has their one spot where they shine and that is what makes such a great diversified amount of poems.
